Each location has their own distinctive menus. We don’t do a digital online menu. Come explore. We have since day one used our independently owned matcha brand. First harvest only freshly stoneground and bake everything in house in our own microbakery.

No reservations. Walk-ins only.

Our day starts at 2am, when the ovens go on and the matcha gets whisked. Everything, buns, pastry, matcha, drinks, is made in-house from scratch, and the menu shifts with the seasons. Hakkō is a gathering place for the local community and matcha and sourdough lovers from around the world.

HAKKŌ, HAKKŌ DŌ and HAKKŌ HUSET are counterpoints to the rush. Come meet a friend or come alone. Sit with traditional first harvest matcha and long fermented sourdough baked at our forest edge bakery in Højbjerg, shaped by Asian and Scandinavian traditions.

Our №2 chapter, HAKKŌ DŌ, is where we let things get looser. Sourdough bagels. Matcha. Ideas that have been brewing for years.

Chapter № 03 a small hut by the sea at Bassin 7.

We founded Hakkō, an independent matcha brand sourcing first harvest matcha directly from small, family-owned farms in Japan.

Born between Denmark and Asia. Rooted in neither. So we made our own place.

Matcha. Sourdough.

Every cup whisked the same way. Every bun fermented for 72hrs.

HAKKŌ. A place to belong, by not belonging.
